Alabama drivers have been educated about the dangers of drinking and driving, a process which likely began before they were even old enough to obtain a license. Alabama ranks 3rd in fatal car accidents due to speeding

Cars driving over the speed limit is a serious issue across the United States, but recent figures show that some states have a particular problem with injuries and fatalities from speeding. According to statistics from the U.S. Department of Highway Traffic Safety, South Carolina, New Mexico and Alabama had the highest number of speeding-related deaths per capita. Police are warning that speeding is a top contributor to car accidents along with driving under the influence of alcohol.
